dzidza Homie Data Deletion Instructions

1. Send a deletion request

Email [email protected] with the subject dzidza Homie data deletion request. A parent or guardian may make a request for a child’s data.

In the message, state that you want dzidza Homie data deleted and provide only the minimum information reasonably needed to locate the relevant account, such as:

the WhatsApp phone number or identifier used with dzidza Homie;
the account or learner identifier, if one was provided; and
whether you are the user or a parent or guardian acting for a child.

If available, a brief description of the learning profile concerned can help distinguish it from another profile, but do not send unnecessary personal or sensitive information.

2. Keep account secrets private

Never send passwords, PINs, one-time passwords, verification codes, payment credentials, or unnecessary sensitive information. We do not need those secrets to process a deletion request.

To protect the learner and prevent unauthorised deletion, we may ask for reasonable verification that the requester controls the relevant account or has authority to act for the child. Any verification request should be proportionate and limited to what is necessary.

3. What deletion generally covers

Once the account and authority are reasonably verified, deletion generally covers dzidza Homie personal data associated with the identified learner or account, including learner profile information, stored lesson and progress state, and stored exercise or assessment records where those features have been operational.

We will confirm the request or explain any information reasonably needed to continue. We do not promise an unsupported fixed response or completion time, but requests will be handled in a reasonable manner consistent with applicable obligations.

4. Information that may be retained

Some limited records may need to be retained where required for legal, security, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, or financial recordkeeping purposes. Information may also remain briefly in protected backups until those backups are overwritten through normal processes. Retained information will remain limited to the applicable purpose and will not be used to continue an active learner profile.

5. Separate accounts and actions

Deleting dzidza Homie data is separate from deleting a WhatsApp or Meta account. A dzidza Homie deletion request does not delete or control information held by WhatsApp or Meta under their own services and policies.

Cancelling or ending a dzidza Homie subscription and deleting personal or learner data are also separate actions. If you want both, state both requests clearly. A subscription cancellation alone does not automatically delete learning progress or other dzidza Homie data.

For questions about deletion, or to make a privacy request for a child, email [email protected]. Please identify your relationship to the child without sending unnecessary proof or sensitive documents unless we specifically request reasonable verification through an appropriate process.
