1. About dzidza Homie
dzidza Homie is a Stripes Space educational product from Creative Stripes Agency. Its current educational scope is Zimbabwean tutoring for ECD A, ECD B, and Grades 1–7. The initial service is provided through the official WhatsApp Business Platform. Future dzidza Homie mobile or web clients may use the same service accounts and learning progress, but this policy does not claim that those future clients or every planned feature are currently available.
This policy explains how information may be processed when someone uses dzidza Homie. WhatsApp is a communication channel, not the authoritative dzidza Homie learner database.
2. Information we may process
We process information only where reasonably necessary to provide, protect, support, and improve the service. Depending on the features in use, this may include:
- a WhatsApp or phone identifier used to communicate with the service;
- an account or learner identifier;
- messages and other content sent to dzidza Homie;
- a learner’s grade or education level where supplied;
- lesson, activity, and progress state;
- exercise or assessment attempts and results when those features are operational;
- subscription or payment status where applicable, without treating WhatsApp as the processor of dzidza Homie payments; and
- limited operational and security telemetry needed to deliver, troubleshoot, and protect the service.
Planned backend services may persist the minimum learner identity, progress, lesson state, assessment, and subscription records required for the features being provided.
3. Children, parents, and data minimisation
Because dzidza Homie may be used by children, data minimisation is a core principle. Learners should not be asked unnecessarily for a full legal name, exact date of birth, home address, school details, or other sensitive information. Users should not send this information unless it is specifically and legitimately required.
A parent or guardian should supervise a child’s use where appropriate, help the child avoid sharing unnecessary personal information, and contact us about privacy concerns or requests concerning the child’s data. We may take reasonable steps to confirm that a person making a request has authority to act for the child.
4. How information is used
Information may be used to deliver appropriate educational content, maintain lesson continuity and progress, record exercises or assessments when available, provide support, administer access or subscription status, maintain service security, prevent misuse, and meet legitimate legal and operational requirements.
Known operations such as curriculum retrieval, deterministic marking, account state, and other rule-based functions may be handled without AI. Where AI-enabled educational functionality is enabled, relevant conversation content and learning context may be processed to provide that interaction. This does not mean that every message is currently sent to an AI provider.
5. WhatsApp, Meta, and service providers
The initial dzidza Homie experience uses the official WhatsApp Business Platform. Meta and WhatsApp process information under their own terms and privacy policies when providing that communications platform. Deleting dzidza Homie data does not delete a user’s WhatsApp or Meta account.
Infrastructure and other service providers may process limited information where necessary to host, secure, communicate, support, or operate enabled dzidza Homie features. Access should be limited to the relevant purpose. We do not sell learner personal data.
6. Security and retention
We apply reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the information and service. No online service can promise absolute security, so users should avoid sending unnecessary sensitive information through WhatsApp or any other channel.
Information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide and support the service, maintain learning records requested by the user, protect security, resolve disputes, and meet legal or legitimate operational requirements. Retention needs vary by the type of record, and this policy does not establish an invented fixed period.
7. Privacy and deletion requests
Users, parents, and guardians may ask questions or request access, correction, or deletion where applicable by emailing [email protected]. See the dzidza Homie Data Deletion Instructions for the request process and important limitations.
We may request reasonable information to identify the relevant account and verify the requester’s identity or authority. Never send a password, PIN, one-time password, verification code, payment credential, or unnecessary sensitive information.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as dzidza Homie develops, service providers or legal requirements change, or new features become operational. The current version will be published on this page with an updated date. Material changes will be communicated where reasonably appropriate.
